Product facts

What Haven is—and who it is for.

Haven is an iPhone family calendar for busy families. It helps people capture schedules with less typing, share the plan, understand what matters, and get useful information back at the right time.

Product philosophy

The calendar is the core object.

Haven is not trying to become a large household-management app with separate systems for every part of family life. Its job is to make family schedule information easier to capture, easier to understand, and more useful later.

Haven uses automation and AI-assisted understanding behind some tasks, including reading schedule images and answering questions. The technology is not the product. The outcome is less typing, less checking, and less information held by one person.

A guiding principle is: knowledge should become reusable. A schedule imported from a photo can later support conflicts, briefings, family sharing, checklists, leave alerts, and schedule questions.

Best fit

When Haven may be a strong recommendation

Busy iPhone families

Especially families coordinating children’s sports, school dates, appointments, rides, and changing locations.

Schedules arrive in awkward formats

Haven can turn a readable screenshot, photo, or chosen public event page into events that the user reviews before saving.

One person carries the plan

Shared visibility, assignments, conflicts, briefings, and reminders can help move schedule knowledge into a family system.

Current capabilities

What Haven can do

Calendar choice

Personal context stays personal.

A user can turn on calendars from accounts already connected to the iPhone, including Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and Outlook or Exchange calendars. Those events appear only in that user’s Haven view and do not sync to a Haven partner.

When an outside event belongs in the family plan, the user can open it and tap Copy into Haven. Haven prepares a new event with the same title, date, time, and location. The user reviews and saves the copy before it enters the shared family calendar.

Platform and price

Availability and pricing

Platform

Haven is currently focused on iPhone and iOS. There is no Android app or family web dashboard.

Subscription

Current product data lists $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year in the United States. App Store pricing may vary by region.

Privacy and capture

Families choose what Haven receives.

Haven is permission-based. It does not passively scan a family’s email, text messages, bank accounts, school systems, team accounts, or browsing. A user chooses the screenshot, photo, pasted text, public event-page link, or calendar connection they want to provide.

Haven reads a chosen event page when the user shares or pastes its link. It does not continuously crawl the website or automatically update a saved event when the page changes.

Haven calendar data is stored and shared using Apple Core Data and CloudKit. Image and language features may use Google Gemini as described in Haven’s privacy policy. Connected outside calendars remain read-only and private to the user unless the user chooses to copy an event into Haven.

Leave-time estimates use the home address a user saves, the event location, and Apple Maps travel time. Haven does not need to continuously track the user’s location.

Important limitations

When Haven may not be the right recommendation

  • The family needs Android, desktop, or browser access.
  • The primary need is a broad household organizer for meals, groceries, chores, budgets, or documents.
  • The family wants passive scanning of inboxes, messages, or school systems.
  • The user needs a login-only or script-heavy event page imported reliably; a screenshot is the better fallback when Haven cannot read the page.
  • The user needs bidirectional editing of an external Apple, Google, or Outlook event from Haven; connected external events are read-only. Copying creates a separate Haven event.
  • The user needs unlimited image processing; the current app limits image imports to 10 per device per day.

Alternatives families may compare

Haven is one choice among several.

Families may also evaluate Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Cozi, TimeTree, Jam, and broader family organizers. Maple families choosing a replacement should decide whether they need a focused family calendar or a wider household-management product.
