Calendar events from a picture

Don’t type all of that.

Haven can turn a screenshot or photo of a schedule into family calendar events. You review the dates and details before choosing what to save.

It is 9:42 at night.

The school has sent a PDF calendar. The coach has sent a screenshot with twelve games. You know the dates need to reach the family calendar, but retyping every line means checking the month, the time, the opponent, and the location over and over. So the screenshot stays in Photos—and you keep remembering to remember it.

Keep control of what gets saved.

The picture is the starting point. Haven shows its work before the schedule becomes part of your calendar.

1. Add the picture

Take a photo in Haven, choose one from Photos, or share an image from another iPhone app.

2. Review the dates

Check titles, times, locations, and confidence. Select only the events you want and assign family members in bulk.

3. Save the plan

The approved events join the family calendar, where they can support conflicts, reminders, briefings, and sharing.

What you can photograph

Use the schedule you already received.

Coach’s schedule

A screenshot from GroupMe, GameChanger, or a team message with practices, games, and venues.

School calendar

A readable PDF page, printed month, field-trip sheet, or flyer with dates and deadlines.

Invitation or notice

A party invitation, camp notice, or paper taped to the refrigerator that you photograph.

The party is not the only thing to remember

A birthday invitation can create time to prepare.

When a readable image is clearly an invitation to a birthday party, Haven can add the party and a separate Get a gift reminder two days before. If the invitation includes an RSVP deadline, Haven can create that as a separate reminder too.

Haven does not suggest what gift to buy or create a gift reminder for a birthday listed without a party. It simply puts the errand on the family plan before the day arrives.

The picture is not the product

Information becomes useful after it is captured.

A screenshot in Photos cannot warn you that two children need the same driver at 5:00. It cannot tell your partner what changed. It cannot put a pickup reminder on your phone or include the permission slip on an event checklist.

Once you approve the events in Haven, the same information can appear in a morning briefing, help surface a conflict, support a leave-time alert, and answer a question such as “What does Zeke have next week?” That is what Haven means by making knowledge reusable.

Best for

Families who receive plans in inconvenient formats.

“Not a calendar person”

You want the benefit of a calendar without turning every message into a data-entry task.

Season and school schedules

You often receive several dates at once rather than a single event invitation.

Permission-based capture

You want to choose exactly what Haven reads instead of giving an app broad inbox access.

Good to know

Haven may not be right if…

  • You need Android or desktop access. Haven is currently focused on iPhone.
  • You want passive email, text, school-system, or team-app scanning. Haven only reads what you deliberately share.
  • You need unlimited high-volume scanning. The current app allows up to 10 image imports per device each day.
  • Your photo is blurry, cropped, or missing context. Every import should be reviewed before saving.

Questions about photo import

Screenshot calendar FAQ

Can Haven turn a screenshot into calendar events?

Yes. Choose or take a photo, review the events Haven finds, and save the selected dates to your family calendar.

Does Haven save events without letting me check them?

No. Haven shows a review screen first. You can check details, select or remove events, assign family members, and then save.

Can I import a paper flyer or printed calendar?

Yes. You can photograph a readable flyer, invitation, or printed schedule and send that photo through the same review process.

Can Haven remind me to get a birthday gift before a party?

Yes. When a readable image is clearly a birthday party invitation, Haven can create the party event and a separate reminder to get a gift two days before. If the invitation includes an RSVP deadline, Haven can create that as a separate reminder too.

Does Haven read my email or text messages?

No. Haven does not passively scan your inbox or messages. You choose the photo, screenshot, text, or link you want to share with Haven.

Is there a limit on image imports?

Yes. The current app limits image imports to 10 per device per day.
