To turn a screenshot into calendar events on iPhone with Haven, open the image, use the share sheet to send it to Haven, review the dates and times, and save the events you want. You can also choose a saved photo from inside Haven.
Apple can help you capture an event from a screenshot too. Haven takes that starting point into your family’s day: assign the driver, choose who picks up and when, check the location, and set the reminders that help the plan happen.
Can Apple Calendar add an event from a screenshot?
Yes. On supported iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Apple’s Visual Intelligence tools can offer Add to Calendar when a screenshot contains event details. Take the screenshot, use that option when it appears, and review the event before saving. Availability depends on your device, software, language, region, and the image itself.
That can be enough when you just need the date saved. Apple Calendar also supports locations and event alerts. Haven adds family-specific coordination to the same job: who’s taking the child, who’s collecting them, and when pickup needs to happen.
Here’s how to go from a screenshot to that shared family plan in Haven.
1. Take a readable screenshot or photo.
Take a screenshot of the email, message, or invitation. For paper, take a clear photo in good light. Keep the dates, year, times, and location visible, along with any heading that explains what the schedule is for.
You don’t need to share your whole inbox. Choose the information you want Haven to help with. If a long newsletter needs several images, use readable sections and check that you aren’t importing the same event twice.
2. Send the image to Haven and review the events.
- Open the picture or screenshot on your iPhone.
- Use the share sheet to send it to Haven, or choose the image from inside Haven.
- Review the events Haven finds. Check the date, year, start and end times, and location.
- Select the events you actually need and save them to your family calendar.
For a school sheet, you might save picture day and early dismissal, but skip an activity your child isn’t attending. If a time or date is missing, confirm it with the original message or school before relying on the event.
3. Turn the saved event into a family plan.
Once you’ve reviewed the dates, add the details that help both partners carry out the plan:
- Who’s going: assign the right child.
- Driver: choose who’s taking them.
- Location: check the address and add useful arrival details.
- Pickup person and time: choose who’s collecting them and confirm when pickup is needed.
- Event reminders: set the reminders you need, including pickup and leave-time reminders where appropriate.
- What to bring: keep a short checklist with the event.
For a birthday invitation, that could mean one parent drives to the venue, the other picks up at 4:00, and the gift stays on the checklist. For early dismissal, the important details might be a named pickup person, the earlier collection time, and a reminder.
You and your invited partner can both use the saved family plan. Instead of saving the date and sorting out the rides later in texts, you can keep the arrangements with the event.
Will events update if the original schedule changes?
An imported image captures the information at that moment. If the coach changes the time afterward, update the event or review the new screenshot and avoid leaving a duplicate behind.
For a whole sports season, a compatible GameChanger, TeamSnap, or SportsEngine connection is often a better starting point. Haven can check a connected feed for changes when you open the app, while your notes and checklists stay with the event.
What if Haven reads a date or time incorrectly?
Correct the details before saving. Check that the image includes the year and any time key, and confirm whether a listed time is for arrival, the event itself, or a deadline. If the text is blurry or cut off, try a clearer image. For a long schedule, use smaller readable sections and check for duplicates.
A few photo-to-calendar questions
Can I use a photo of a paper calendar?
Yes, if the dates and event details are readable. Keep the month, year, and any time key visible, then review the extracted events before saving.
Can I paste the text instead?
Yes. Haven accepts pasted text as well as readable images and public event links. Use whichever gives it the clearest information to review.
Will Haven add everything automatically?
You review the events and choose what to save. Sending a screenshot doesn’t give Haven permission to read your other emails or add every date it finds without your review.
