A Maple alternative with more where it counts.
Maple is a well-designed family calendar. Haven takes the same modern approach and adds the logistics features — event assignment, morning briefings, conflict detection — that make the biggest difference day-to-day.
- 🚗 Event assignment — Haven lets you tag the driver for every event. Maple doesn't have this feature.
- ☀️ Morning Briefing — Every family member gets a daily summary through Haven. Not available in Maple.
- ⚠️ Conflict Detection — Haven proactively catches scheduling overlaps. Maple handles this only partially.
- ☁️ Full iCloud Integration — Haven is built on CloudKit for instant, private sync. Maple's iCloud integration is limited.
- 🎨 Emoji + Color Profiles — Every family member has a personalized identity in Haven. More than just a color.
"I wanted the design of Maple but the logistics of a real family tool. Haven had both."
Maple is a strong entry in the modern family calendar app space — visually polished and a genuine improvement over older apps like Cozi. If design and ease of use are your primary criteria, Maple is worth considering.
But Haven does more for the parts of family scheduling that cause the most friction. Event assignment is the clearest example: when you have two kids at two different places on the same afternoon, you need to know who's handling each one. Haven has a dedicated driver tag for every event. Maple doesn't.
Haven also includes morning briefings for every family member — a daily heads-up on what the day holds — and active conflict detection that surfaces overlapping events before they become problems. These aren't premium features in Haven. They're part of the core product.
If you've tried Maple and found it beautiful but missing something, Haven is likely the missing piece.
Everything Maple does — plus the features that matter.
